About

Opening scenes in films are important as they give the directors a chance to get the audience gripped, and in some way impact them so they become curious about the film. This blog will explore the film form of editing, and the way that in opening scenes of films it works to set the tone for the rest of the film. It enables the director to establish the mood of their film and has the ability to do this as it works “to guide viewers’ perceptions”. (Corrigan and White 140)
